If all the Save the Dates hanging on my fridge and weekends blocked off on my calendar are any indication, it’s officially wedding season. While 40 percent of 2019 weddings are set for fall, the spring and summer months are also prime time for couples tying the knot – and don’t forget those cold weather-loving sweethearts getting hitched in the winter. OK, maybe wedding season is actually all year long.
While the percentage of people getting married may be declining, the wedding services industry is alive and well, growing to reach a revenue of $76 billion in 2019. More than two million couples will spend $29,000 on average planning their weddings in the US this year; according to a 2017 study from The Knot, “high spenders” – defined as those shelling out $60,000 or more – ended up paying an average of $105,130 for their ceremonies. While this is definitely good news for the wedding industry, what about the wide-format digital print market?
