New Summa DC5 Series of Thermal-Transfer Printer-Cutters

The 54-in. DC5 and the 30-in. DC5sx both have a maximum cutting speed of 24 inches per second.

Summa has introduced the Summa DC5 series of thermal-transfer printer-cutters, comprising the 54-in. DC5 and the 30-in. DC5sx. Features include an integrated cutting head, OptiPrint media pre-cleaning system, built-in ribbon changer, ColorControl 8 RIP software with auto color tiling, a color touchscreen, Ethernet connectivity, and more. A built-in motorized media take-up system is standard on the DC5 (optional on the D5sx).

Max. print speed on both machines is 93 sq ft/hr in Standard mode for spot color; 34 sq ft/hr for process CMY (67 sq ft/hr, spot, in High Resolution mode, 58 sq ft/hr, spot, in Double Density mode); top resolution is 609 dpi (apparent). Max. cutting speed is 24 in./sec.
